Meshy 5 is a generative AI model designed for high-fidelity 3D asset creation from text prompts and 2D images. Developed by Meshy and officially released in August 2025, the model serves as a significant upgrade over its predecessors, focusing on production-ready outputs for game development, VFX, and digital design. It introduces a refined generation engine capable of producing complex geometries and stylized or realistic 3D models with reduced geometric artifacts.
One of the model's primary enhancements is the support for multi-view image input, which allows users to upload several angles of a single object to improve mesh coherence and structural accuracy. Additionally, Meshy 5 introduces a quad-dominant topology generation mode, producing meshes that are more suitable for rigging and animation compared to standard triangular tessellation.
In terms of surfacing, the model generates high-resolution Physically Based Rendering (PBR) maps, including base color, roughness, metalness, and normal maps. These textures are specifically designed to be "de-lit," ensuring they can be accurately relit in various environmental lighting conditions within standard 3D rendering engines. The platform also integrates an AI Prompt Helper to assist users in generating optimized 3D assets from text descriptions and provides access to an expanded library of over 500 animations for rigged character models.
