Seedream 5.0 Pro is a multimodal image generation and editing model developed by ByteDance's Seed team, released as the professional-tier model in the Seedream 5.0 family, above the earlier Seedream 5.0 Lite. It is designed for production design work rather than single-shot image generation, targeting use cases such as infographics, posters, UI mockups, product photography, and structured commercial assets. The model accepts both text prompts and reference images as input.
Capabilities
The model introduces four core capability areas over prior Seedream versions: complex information visualization, which converts data, concepts, and long text into structured layouts such as infographics and charts; precision editing, which allows a specific region or element of an image to be modified while leaving the rest of the composition untouched; realistic imagery, with attention to physical lighting, material behavior, skin texture, and multi-person compositing; and native multilingual text rendering, supporting text generation and input understanding across more than ten languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Arabic, with support for right-to-left layouts.
Seedream 5.0 Pro also supports intelligent layer separation, allowing a generated image to be split into multiple independent, transparent layers (such as subject, background, and text) that can be repositioned, scaled, or swapped individually. It supports generation from multiple reference images simultaneously, fusing distinct visual elements into a single composed scene. The model produces images at up to 2K native resolution.
Prompting
ByteDance describes Seedream 5.0 Pro as using a "deep thinking" reasoning process across reading, seeing, drawing, and writing before generating an image, allowing it to parse complex, multi-part, and densely detailed prompts, including layout and positional instructions, more reliably than prior versions. For editing tasks, the model responds to region-level instructions, such as point, box, or sketch-based selections, that specify which part of an image to change while preserving the remainder of the composition.
ByteDance has not disclosed parameter counts, training data scale, or underlying model architecture details for Seedream 5.0 Pro.
