Riverflow 1

Released Oct 2025

Riverflow 1 is a precision-focused image editing and generation model developed by Sourceful, specifically engineered for professional design, branded packaging, and marketing collateral. Unlike general-purpose artistic generators, the model prioritizes control, consistency, and structural accuracy to meet the requirements of physical print and industrial design. It achieved a top ranking on the Artificial Analysis image editing benchmark upon its release, outperforming several large-scale foundation models in instruction-following and detail-oriented tasks.

The model's architecture utilizes a reasoning vision-language model (VLM) integrated with a diffusion-based editing system. This hybrid approach enables an agentic "chain-of-thought" exploration of the image space, allowing the model to internally iterate through a "judge-fix-judge" cycle. This process facilitates autoregressive control, where the system can adjust its editing path dynamically to ensure high adherence to complex multi-step instructions without restarting the generation from scratch.

Key capabilities of Riverflow 1 include millimeter-level accuracy for product placement, advanced text rendering for logos and labels, and built-in support for transparency. It handles complex retouching, color correction, and object replacement across 11 different aspect ratios with a maximum resolution of 1K. The model family is offered in three tiers—Mini, Standard, and Pro—each calibrated for different levels of reasoning depth and processing throughput.

For optimal results, users are encouraged to provide clear, intent-based instructions rather than simple descriptive keywords. Because the system is designed to understand design context and intent, it can interpret nuanced prompts for text modifications and layout-safe changes while maintaining the integrity of original brand assets and lighting environments.
