Reve Image (Halfmoon) is a foundation image generation model developed by Reve AI, Inc., a startup based in Palo Alto. Released in early 2025, the model gained significant attention for its performance on global leaderboards, where it was initially introduced under the codename Halfmoon. The model is designed from the ground up with a focus on three primary pillars: exceptional prompt adherence, high-fidelity aesthetics, and accurate typography rendering.

Built on a 12-billion parameter hybrid diffusion architecture, Reve Image 1.0 features a dedicated typography engine and a context-aware prompt interpreter. It generates images at a native resolution of 2048x2048 pixels and includes an integrated upscaling system capable of producing 4K (4096x4096px) outputs with approximately 92% detail retention. The model also emphasizes character consistency, claiming significantly higher multi-character coherence than standard diffusion models.

Technically, the model utilizes a multi-stage generation process consisting of a semantic parsing layer for prompt decomposition, a spatial-aware composition engine, and a versatile style transfer module. Unlike models that often "hallucinate" creative additions to a prompt, Reve is designed for precision, meaning users are encouraged to provide detailed, expansive prompts to achieve the best results. It excels in commercial applications such as product photography, architectural visualization, and graphic design involving legible text.

Despite its high performance in photorealistic and 3D categories, the model has a recognized visual signature that leans toward a high-contrast, "glossy" CGI aesthetic. This characteristic can make it challenging to generate truly flat 2D art, watercolor, or traditional hand-drawn styles, as the model often defaults to a polished 3D appearance. Additionally, while anatomical accuracy is generally high in static poses, complex dynamic interactions between subjects can occasionally result in artifacts.
